No Faggots on the Moon

That's the way to do it. A picket by the evil froot-loops of the Westboro Baptist Church is hijacked here by a comer-in who joins in their protest as one of them, and totally upstages it with ramblings no more insane than their own. 'You got a lotta balls' says a middle aged lady, not wholly admiringly. You bet he has, lady.

Surely Westboro Baptist Church has never heard a certain piece of ancient folk wisdom: "What do you call one faggot on the moon? A problem. What do you call all faggots on the moon? Problem solved."

We have gay astronauts now? There goes my dream of being the first queer in space...

The WBC fascinate me. As individuals they are often intelligent, compassionate people (excluding Fred the patriarch, who's too far gone in gleeful hatred now to have any redeeming characteristics) but collectively they are vicious in their Schadenfreude. Weird.

Another clip that reaffirms my desire to have died without ever having visited the USA. I have had my passport stamped at the borders of in excess of 60 countries, but will never willingly visit uncle Sam. I am too outspoken and would probably be shot.
I love your blog, very addictive style, thanks. Ian.

I'm old enough to remember plenty of fight like this, and especially nowadays, it doesn't upset me. Economical crises and all the trouble we're going trough, it feed all type of hates, with an apparently good excuse!

Hi Stan. Yes, WBC and other virulent homophobes are probably best ignored for the sake of the blood pressure. Glad you like the blog, thanks for the encouragement.
